Just because it’s a red day doesn’t mean you have to stay at home so you can keep feeling fresh. Even if you’re in school or anywhere else, you can follow these tips:
1. Bring an extra set of underwear and bottoms
You never know when you’ll get that nasty stain—and you might just run into your crush in the hallway. No way are you going to let this happen. Steer clear of this disaster by stashing an additional set of panties, shorts, or jeans in your bag or locker. Whether you wear a uniform or not at school, it always helps to be prepared to change into fresh undies when the need arises.
2. Wear skirts, jeans, or shorts made from light materials
When you sweat, breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen are your best friends. Instead of making your legs feel like a hot, soggy burrito, these materials absorb the moisture but still let the air flow.
3. Bring a makeshift bidet (a water bottle) and wash each time you pee
Let’s face it. Bidets are a luxury in this country, and you’d be hard-pressed to find one in your average high school or college campus restrooms. Get creative! Bring an empty small to medium-sized water bottle with you and just fill it up before you pee. Use it as your makeshift bidet to wash up down there and feel instantly clean and fresh.
4. Use a feminine wash that you are fond of
You feel all sorts of #feels during your red days, but discomfort doesn’t have to be one of them. Start using a feminine wash that can keep you fresh and also protect you down there.
