It’s your big day. You’ve been planning this one party perfect event moment all year long. It’s going to be the best day of your life! The invitations are sent out, the RSVP’s are in, and you are all set to get married. It’s a huge moment in your life, one that you want to look your absolute best for hands down. You want to “wow” your partner, who is almost your spouse, by being the very best version of yourself you can be. Here’s a little tip though, don’t forget about your wedding undergarments. It’s not something you can just pull out of your lingerie drawer at the last minute specifically if your dress is form fitting, off the shoulder, or sheer. It takes the proper planning just like every other detail of the big day. Here are a few tips to get you on your way to being decked out in the undergarment department.
Bring Your Dress
Don’t be afraid to take your dress with you to your lingerie store of your choice so that you can try on the dress with your actual garments. It makes a huge difference to actually see what the dress will look like with the right underpinnings in place. You won’t know for sure how they will look unless you have the dress with you to try on right there in the store. It’s much easier then getting home, and finding out that what you have picked out is all wrong.
Think About Style
It might seem like a good idea to throw on some Spanx and go, but those aren’t the most attractive option. There are some better options out there. You want your undergarments to be sexy, fun, and do the job you need them to do. Don’t settle for boring. There are many details that can amp up the sexuality such as lace details or sheer fabric. You want your new spouse to be just as blown away by what’s underneath as they were when they saw you walk down the aisle.
Spend a Little Extra Money
Going to a store that actually specializes in wedding undergarments might help. Don’t just stop into your local “Victoria’s Secret” in your mall. The upscale department store, Nordstrom has bridal experts on hand in their lingerie department who are specifically trained to help you choose the right garments for underneath your wedding gown. You might pay a little more, but it’s worth it to get the expertise. Don’t skimp on price too. You get what you pay for, and honestly inexpensive undergarments usually pinch or pull because they are made poorly with less quality fabrics.
Bring a Friend
Either your Mom, a bridesmaid, or any friend you enjoy shopping with will do. It’s way more fun to shop in general with a buddy. Plus, they can tell you honestly how the dress looks from all angles with the proper undergarments on with it.
