Now that summer is fast approaching, some of you have probably booked a flight abroad. While traveling may just be one of the most exciting things life has to offer, it also comes with a few downsides such as jet lag and fatigue.
Thankfully, some of our favorite celebrities have revealed their secrets to counteracting jet lag. Here’s what we know:
#1 Stay up and get on local time
Your drowsiness may be difficult to fight off at first, but actress Shay Mitchell shares that it’s the best way to get on local time quickly. “You have to get on the schedule right away. If you take a nap, you will be all off,” she shares.
#2 Bring some peppermint with you
Supermodel Karolina Kurkova shared that she never forgets to carry peppermint oil with her on trips. This helps wake one up immediately after landing. She also recommends bringing a hydrating mist to keep your skin moisturized while traveling.
#3 Drink some orange juice
Gal Gadot swears by drinking a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice after a flight. She reveals that the Vitamin C in the juice boots your immune system and keeps you energized for the day.
#4 Walk around barefoot
In an Instagram post, actress Naomie Harris shares her secret to fighting jet lag: walking around the local ground barefoot for around 20 – 45 minutes. She explains that this helps travelers stay grounded with the local earth and the destination they’re in.
#5 Practice yoga
We can definitely turn to Miranda Kerr–who has been practicing all types of yoga for 15 years now–for some advice on the topic. “My yoga practice really helps with jet lag,” she shares, adding that she does yoga in her hotel room after a flight to keep her body in tune with a foreign destination.
