We’re all guilty of buying things that we thought we’d need at least once in our lives. Remember that dress you swore you’d wear every day for the rest of your life, but you ended up wearing only once? Or the trendy skirt you bought because all the fashion bloggers and celebrities were wearing it even though it doesn’t necessarily flatter your curves? To help you make sure that you won’t spend a single dollar on a shirt that you’d never wear, we’re listing down five questions you need to ask yourself before swiping that plastic!
1. Am I buying this because it’s on sale?
If you’re buying a new dress that’s not your style because you want to explore the different looks you can rock, then go right ahead! But if you’re purchasing something that’s not your look just because it’s half of its original price, put down the dress and slowly walk out of the store.
2. Does it fit my body well?
Don’t spend on clothes that don’t fit your body unless it can be altered to fit you better.
3. Would it match any of your clothes at home?
Chances are if none of your old clothes match your new purchase you would end up spending more to create a strong style equation. To make sure you can maximize your new buy, make sure that it matches at least three of your old clothes at home.
4. Am I buying this because of the brand?
True fashionistas know that style can never be truly acquainted with a certain brand name. When shopping make sure that you’re buying the item because you truly love it not because it’s from a store where your favorite celeb or blogger shops at.
5. Do I feel comfortable wearing this?
At the end of the day don’t buy anything that you don’t feel comfortable wearing. Even if your best friend or your mom thinks that the top you wore makes you glow, if you don’t feel comfortable in it, don’t buy it.
