How to Look Your Best on Valentine’s Day

Look Best Valentines Valentine’s Day is just right around the corner!  Whether you’re going out on a date with your special someone or just hanging out with friends, it’s nice to look extra special on this day.  If you’re riding solo this Valentines, spend the day to give yourself a well deserved “me-time” and pamper yourself.  Below are some of our tips on how to look your best on Valentine’s day – from head to toe!

Prepping Your Skin

Step up on your skin care the week before Valentines.  Incorporate essential oils, serums or richer creams into your night routine, make sure you’re using SPF during the day, and don’t forget to exfoliate with a gentle scrub every 2-3 days to get rid of dull, dead cells.

You can also go for a facial treatment to help clear up your skin, but make sure you do this days prior to the big day, so you won’t end up with a red face on Valentine’s!  On the eve of your special date, use a face mask so you wake up with nourished and glowing skin.

Don’t neglect your body as well and remember to exfoliate and use body cream!

Hair and Makeup

How you do your hair and makeup will depend on the type of day you’re planning to have.  If you’re hanging out with friends, a casual look will do.  Do a pink and brown eye makeup combination, and don’t forget to add shimmer on the inner corner of your eyes.  Pink eye shadow is tricky, so make sure you balance it out by darker shadow on your crease and outer V.  Use illuminators or highlighters and glow like a teen in love!  Pair with a soft pink or coral lipstick.

If you’re going out on a romantic evening date, do a gradient eye with pinks, purples and bronze!  If you’re not fond of colors, just stick to the no-fail, classic black smokey eye and pair with a pinky nude lipstick.

Give yourself some lovely curls on Valentine’s day and tie a bow or wear an embellished hair band for a casual look.  Braids also look feminine and romantic.  For evening looks, go with a soft updo like a side chignon.

Think white, pink and red.  Any of these colors are sure to work for Valentine’s.  Again depending on your date, you can go for any of these choices: a crop top or bralette (if you’re rocking that gorgeous bod!) with a midi skirt.  Highlight your feminity with cut out skater dresses, bustier dresses that have a cute neckline, and pair with sky high pumps!  Don’t forget to accessorize and layer on your necklaces, rings or bracelets, if you have to!
